Content and learning outcomes

• Explores the concept of a “just food nation”, critically comparing it with food security and food sovereignty.
• Develops understanding of food systems across national, regional, and local contexts, informing policy and practice decisions.
• Examines policy formation, implementation, and influence, with a focus on strategies that promote health, sustainability, and equity.
• Encourages critical analysis of power dynamics within food systems and how they shape outcomes.
• Builds practical skills in collaboration and co-production, supporting the design of fair and resilient food system solutions.

Learning and teaching

Teaching and learning methods will include a mix of synchronous and asynchronous activities including webinars, meetings, lectures, readings, tasks and activities alongside independent study and tutor support.
